Just like so many people, I suffered from severe anxiety and countless fears that put some serious limitations on living the life that I was meant to live. I had all the classic symptoms; tunnel vision, panic attacks, body shakes&#8230;you name it, I had it. I had been to the emergency room so many times that I had started going to different hospitals for fear of being recognized as \u201cthe crazy regular\u201d by the nurses, which is not embarrassing at all (<em>sarcasm speaking!<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After about 20 years of not believing in the doctor&#8217;s anxiety diagnosis and hundreds of missed opportunities there was one morning that I was literally curled up on the floor of my bedroom. I remember it so clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I was tired. The first was to <em><strong>never let fear make my decisions for me<\/strong><\/em> and the second was to <em><strong>start living my bucket list<\/strong><\/em> by taking at least one step towards my goals every day. From then on when an opportunity presented itself and I wanted to say no, I would ask myself if that negative is the voice of fear. <em>It almost always was fear speaking. <\/em>In that case, I vowed to turn that no into a yes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two promises, along with a crapload of hard work is what led me to creating a career out of my passion for bucket lists. href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/piranha-fishing\/\">piranha fishing<\/a>&nbsp;in the rainforest rivers of Guyana, <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/jellyfish-lake-palau-micronesia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">swam with thousands of jellyfish<\/a> in Palau, went on <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/go-on-an-african-safari-in-tanzania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">safari in Africa<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/rappel-down-waterfall-osa-peninsula-costa-rica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rappelled<\/a>&nbsp;down a hundred foot waterfall, <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/swimming-with-stingrays\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fed a stingray<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/ziplining-in-costa-rica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">zip-lined<\/a> through the Costa Rican rain forest, <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/kayaking-with-beluga-whales-in-manitoba-canada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">kayaked with beluga whales in Manitoba<\/a>&nbsp;and even&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/feed-the-swimming-pigs-in-exuma-bahamas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fed some swimming pigs in the Bahamas<\/a>. <em>Yes, I said swimming!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><br>I have also <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/hike-the-active-pacaya-volcano-in-guatemala\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hiked an active volcano in Guatemala<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/bathing-elephants-in-thailand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bathed elephants at a rescue<\/a> in Chiang Rai, went&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/wild-nova-scotia-adventure-tidal-bore-rafting\/\">tidal bore rafting<\/a>&nbsp;(Google it!) in Nova Scotia and flew through the sky <a href=\"https:\/\/bucketlistjourney.net\/flying-at-a-trapeze-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">on a It was one of the hardest decisions I\u2019ve ever made, but also one of the best. The stress of running the restaurant was starting to mess with my mental well-being, and I knew I had to choose peace over pressure.
