I visited Guatemala many times and can’t believe I didn’t know about this. And it’s even the world’s capital of catch and release Sailfishing. Wow! The picture is fascinating. Also, can I ask you, where did you take the tour? Thank you for sharing!

The blog on Guatemala was refreshing. How wonderful that you could actually visit the Pacaya Volcano and actually roast marshmallows there. It reminded me of the bonfire I make in winter for roasting potatoes. Fishing for sailfish in the Pacific, is my dream.

So happy it was catch and release! Vivid memories from childhood of my dad catching a whopper on an expedition while in Mexico. The fish was brought aboard, then the helpers clubbed it to death!! afterwards, we had a family photo taken on the dock next to the strung up swordfish (or whatever it was). I remember putting my six year old hands on the sword part…only to come away with a bloody mess from the clubbing death!
