Great article! I loved hearing about your personal experience. I’ve taken my family to swim with whale sharks here in Isla Mujeres and in Holbox. It’s an amazing experience and one we look forward to doing again this summer.

Very envious! We just came back from Holbox island, where most whale shark tours leave from, and sadly the season had yet to start. I’m researching this for our next trip to Holbox!

This sounds so amazing. These creatures are my favorite now. Glad you could meet them for me. Not sure this would be the easiest thing for me to do, seeing as you kind of just got to go when someone says jump, but I enjoyed reading this a whole lot and swimming along side these guys. i did this and yes, it’s freaking amazing. I went three times, no seasickness here though. Gentle, beautiful giants.
