I did this with my kids a few years ago from the Kempinski. It was incredible, although my kids were none too pleased when their countless cuts and scratches touched the water!

This seems amazing. I’m glad you recommended some kind of shoes to wear in the water. I am one of those crazy people that are constantly barefoot so I wouldn’t have thought of that!

In reply to Kelly. I wish I could be of more help, but I did have a driver, which made it easy. But, it is really expensive to do it that way. I would probably try to find a bus to the main destinations (like Aqaba) then get a taxi or shuttle from there.

I’m thinking of going straight from Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea as well and then flying out of Amman that night! How did you get from Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea? Taxi’s seem REALLY pricey and I’m going to be traveling solo so not wanting to rent a car and drive by myself. Thanks!

Try not to shave anything for a day or so before dipping in the Dead Sea Jordan. The water is very salty and you WILL feel the burn! The same goes for skin scrapes and cuts. While salt water can actually speed up healing, the burning sensation is not a treat.
