I was there in 2001. There was no cable car you had to take the bus, but I would refer you to the bus simply because of all the sites on the side of that road that showed little steps going into the woods. Then you had all the little semi villages I call that you have to pass through and it’s all history that you won’t see anywhere else. And the one thing that you missed in your article was the monastery that you looked down at when you were on top with Buddha.

I’m a little scared of heights but I took it like a champ. We rode up with a quiet family from Vancouver and rode back by ourselves. The cable car was just as interesting as seeing the Buddha!
